Pepper spray do you need it?

Now more than ever before, people from all over the world are increasingly concerned about their personal security and wellbeing, It is very important that we all maintain awareness of the possibility of becoming a victim of violence at some stage of our lives, Everyone has the right to feel comfortable and safe when they are out and about but unfortunately a violent assault occurs every few seconds in the United States alone.

Luckily there are some effective products available to assist us if we are in a situation that we are forced to defend ourselves, one of these is pepper spray. Pepper sprays not only stop human attacks but also animal attacks in a safe, quick and efficient| way.

The main ingredient in pepper sprays is called Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) which is derived from hot peppers; (OC) is both an irritant and an inflammatory agent. Pepper spray will cause immediate inflammation of the eye and will disrupt other mucous membranes in the facial area resulting in temporary blindness, difficulty in breathing, coughing, choking, and nausea.

Pepper sprays are very| effective but not lethal and do not interfere with breathing enough to be life threatening, this is the reason why police| forces all over the world use pepper spray. The effects last for between 30 to 45 minutes so a victim has time to escape and get help.

These days pepper spray products come in an amazing range of forms, you can get pepper sprays that can be carried on a keychain around your neck. These are great| when out for a walk or walking to your car through parking lot because they provide easy access.

There are pepper sprays that look like everyday items such as lipstick, these are so small they can be very easily carried and are common items to have in a handbag. An added benefit is because of there small size a potential attacker will not see anything in your hand.

You may feel that you do not have a need| for a personal protection item and are unlikely to get in a situation where it is warranted. But for such a small cost that provides an extra| margin of safety| and peace of mind pepper spray is well worth carrying with you. If you are ever forced to use it I think you will be thankful that it was available to you.

Keep in mind that the best situation results in not having to use it at all, but pepper spray can give you that crucial time to escape from an attacker which often can mean the difference between life and death.
